Janine Cordier has lived the majority of her life in JHB. She competed in gymnastics and springboard diving at a provincial level. Gymnastics was her chosen sport and from there grew her love for the ability to master one’s body and pushing physical and psychological boundaries.

Janine Cordier graduated from a sports massage qualification in 1990. Followed by Wits in 1992 and worked in sports marketing for 2 years. She worked on Rugby World Cup 1995 and then ran the gym for Vodacom in 1996 and 1997. While completing a spinning and aerobics instructors course in 1997. She started a private gym at the end of 1997 and grew that business into a wellness centre by 1998. The business partnership split up and she opened a private practice in 2000 which is currently still operating.

Janine did her Pilates instructors course in the year 2001 with Natasha Madel. While consulting at Exec-care (a comprehensive wellbeing company) on the benefits of exercise for improved health, wellness and maintenance and prevention of chronic disease. Reiki from 2002 to 2004. Following this, she instructed at Watt lab in 2015 and 2016 until the centre closed. Finally, she did Floatfit qualification in March 2018, totalling 22 years in the health and fitness industry.

Professional Expertise

All of her qualifications and certifications include B.Phys.Ed.Wits, Pilates instructor, Floatfit instructor, Watt bike Instructor, Spinning and aerobics instructor, Sports Massage Therapist, Personal trainer and Reiki Master. While developing her core competencies including Pilates (New York method), strength training, sports specific training and Rehabilitation. As a result, she uses the above training methods to specialise in injury rehab, pregnancy and high-performance training.

The most rewarding aspect of the health and fitness industry is encouraging clients to believe they can, push boundaries and reach their potential. Which is easy in such a professional, inspiring environment and with warm-hearted motivated instructors.
